Any news?

Recently the builders started work on the house. We' had a few problems with the boat but they should be fixed soon. The house has had a few changes; A wall has been knocked down and the yellow line is a proposed new toilet.

To and Fro'

Next we needed to get a boat to run us here and there, especially to and from Salcombe or the other villages around the estuary. She will need some new cushions and maybe a touch up here and there, but otherwise should do us nicely - 40 HP should be enough!!  What about a name - 'To and Fro' is one suggestion.....

Whats the latest news?

We will be going down in the middle of December and we hope to get  the keys then. The house needs a lot of building works, but we hope it will be habitable by the end of February.

This is the mooring right by the house.

This is a map of where the mooring is in relation to the cottage.

Pictures of the house:

This is the kitchen (downstairs), The kitchen needs to be fitted with equipment (eg. a dishwasher etc.) and needs to be painted and fitted with shelving.

This is the living room (downstairs). The living room needs painting.

This is bedroom 1 (upstairs). Bedroom 1 could do with a paint.

This is bedroom 2 (upstairs). Bedroom 2 could do with a paint.

This is bedroom 3 (upstairs). Bedroom three is fine but just needs re-painting.

This is the courtyard round the back of the house. The courtyard could maybe do with a paint.

This is the back garden. The back garden needs a bit of a cut back and could do with being terraced.

The whole house needs to be fitted with central heating.

Here is a floor plan of the house:

About the house

Where is the house?
The house is on the opposite side of the estuary in a tiny hamlet called East Portlemouth which has no shops in it. Because of this if you need something you have to cross the estuary to get it.

What is the house like on the inside?
The house has 3 bedrooms and can hold 4/5 people in it comfortably. Any more would be a bit of a squeeze! You could fit 2 families in it if you had 2 people on a sofa bed.
